Mentoring requires Holy Spirit

Mentoring requires Holy Spirit

Baptized by the Holy Spirit

Is it essential for you to realize that everything about the Kingdom of God is in the Bible? Do you ever feel off-balance or think you're making mistakes? The Word isn't just theory; it's what He said it was—“Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth” (John 17:17 NKJV). In class, I tell the Holy Spirit, 'This is your course.' I don't teach the same old stuff unless it's fresh; otherwise, I'm not learning. If you're baptized in the Spirit, you've received confirmation through speaking in tongues: “And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied” (Acts 19:6 NKJV). When are you going to use it?

Trust in the Holy Spirit

You should use the gifts God gave you to communicate with Him. The Holy Spirit has been present from the beginning and remains with us today. He wants to help, but we often overlook Him. He has been active throughout all generations and continues to be so. Baptizing in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is one way, but not the only way. The Holy Spirit is very personal. We can't solve problems by trying to control everything. We need to trust in God's blessings and stop hiding the good things He's done. That's discipline. “Because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4). Remember, God is our provider, not just in words but in action. If He says He's Jehovah Jireh, we should trust Him.

The Holy Spirit is an Active Helper

We now have benefits; we can live in the Kingdom today without fear of dying. The one who helps us is the King, as the Word says, “because of the truth which abides in us and will be with us forever” (2 John 1:2). When it comes to mentoring and transformation, I have a helper who makes me effective. I started where you are until I learned to listen with my heart. The more I listened, the more I realized it was the Holy Spirit. Remember when you prayed in the Spirit and felt energized? Do you still? That energy comes from prayer. When it diminishes, I ask what I did wrong and realize I need to ask for forgiveness and call upon those I've needed to forgive. It's important to acknowledge this and listen deeply.

The Holy Spirit Brings Peace

As soon as I did that, I was back in my place. This is meant for born-again believers to walk in this kind of peace. I'm trying to prepare you to be an anointed, effective mentor. And tonight, I want to encourage you that “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matt. 19:26 NKJV). I can tell you, it's fantastic when we start using scripture to define the conversation—you're in. Then you are with the Holy Spirit, and you don't have to research it out because he brings it to you. “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you” (John 14:26 NKJV).

Hold on Until You See Change

Discouragement sets in when you don't see results in the people you're mentoring. My view as an encourager is to hold on until you see change. I look for words like 'free.' I want to solve problems and ask, 'Have you thought about it? Do you care about change?' ‘It's not working well. Have you thought about that today?’ I had someone come in, and I said, “Well, that won't happen.” How do you know until you try? If it doesn't happen, you're no worse off. But if it does, you're better. As it says: "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33 NKJV).

Be Dependent on the Holy Spirit

What is he saying? Come home to Him for perfect peace and confidence. We want that, but we're not there yet. The reason we don't have it is because we're exploring possibilities that won't happen. I'm encouraging mentors: success isn't about how much you know, but who you're dependent on. We all read words, but it's about understanding the thoughts behind the words. When I read Genesis, I realized God brought life from death into Sarah's womb, which was powerful. When we focus on who we are, things happen. If we're struggling, it's because we're still battling the soul, trying to be spiritual. To overcome the soul, we need signs and wonders. We're too busy trying to predict what will happen instead of seeing what He's already done.

Be Surrounded by Fellow Believers

As a mentor, you should be around people who recognize that you're operating in the Holy Spirit. That will boost your confidence. If you're not surrounded by people who see you with the Holy Spirit, it can hold you back because it's important to associate with those who acknowledge and respect it. Mentors also need validation that they are hearing from the Holy Spirit.
